Individuals with disabilities have the possibility for a far different experience today than in previous generations. The confluence of advocacy and federal legislation such as the Developmental Disability Act, IDEA and the ADA has opened doors to new opportunities. The current generation of self-advocates grew up expecting to work, contribute and live in their communities. The mission of the Waisman Center, University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) is to support the full inclusion and self-determination of people with developmental disabilities and their families. Join us to learn from three self-advocates with connections to the Waisman Center who are living lives of inclusion and contribution as they share their personal stories and passion for the future of disability policy.
